I want to start class with a discussion of content-based restrictions on speech and viewpoint-based distinctions on speech. Try to think of some examples of the one and the other.
For example, I said on the video that I think the restriction on student-group-speech in Widmar was viewpoint-based (not merely content-based). Do you agree or disagree? Why?
Has any of you personally had your speech restricted by government on the basis of viewpoint?
See you on Planet Zoom, where it never rains or snows.
How would a University ever have a compelling interest to impose content- or viewpoint-based restrictions on student speech?
