Justice Rutledge In Everson

Justice Rutledge in his dissent in Everson says this: "Two great drives are constantly in motion to abridge, in the name of education, the complete division of religion and civil authority which our forefathers made. One is to introduce religious education and observances into the public schools. The other, to obtain public funds for the aid and support of various private religious schools." p. 1767
Let's assume what he says is true. Why do you think parents want this for their children?

What kind of public support for K-12 education would be neutral among religions and between religion and non-religion?

Let's make sure we have a discussion of Rutledge's complaint.
